I love business image

What do you love about your business?

Simon Sinek tells us to start with why because people buy why we do what we do rather than how we do it.

Our why is often the reason we started our business in the first place. If we’re lucky the driver will be something we love doing. It may be something we feel strongly about.

Are you still driven by the same passion that made you start your business? How has what you love about your business evolved over time?

Lit up with passion

Over my many years of networking I have watched businesspeople light up when they talk about what they love doing.

Their enthusiasm shines through. You can see why they do what they do and often that leads us to want to support them.

Introductions

That’s why our introduction rounds in August 2025 are going to focus on what we love about our businesses.

As usual with an introduction you only have around a minute to make it. You’ll have to be selective.

Think about what will be most interesting or memorable for your audience. What will help them to think how they can help you win more of what you love?

Does the love come from serving clients?

You might love the transformations you create for your clients.

Do you love creating order out of chaos for example? Or perhaps it’s the control you restore to an aspect of their lives… organised finances, a clean or decluttered home.

Do you love seeing your clients leave with less pain?

Perhaps you love the connections with people. Providing people with a listening ear or tools to overcome the things that are keeping them stuck.

Maybe you love the creative process that allows you to produce things your clients get emotional about.

Is it working with others that gives you the most pleasure? For example I love a sea of happy smiley business owners in deep conversation or laughing at a meeting.

Are you inspired by business?

Maybe it’s the intellectual challenge that you love. Is it the constant desire for learning so you can offer an even better service to your clients?

You may like the challenge of winning new customers or growing your business.

You may love sharing your knowledge with others.

Let’s be honest it might be the flexibility you get from running your own business or the lack of a boss that you most enjoy

Share the passion

People often talk about being passionate about their business or an aspect of it. But passion needs to shine through to be believable. We need to hear it in your voice and read it in your body language.

Giving us an example may help us understand and may make it easier for you to show the passion.

I know for many of our members making a difference is important. What difference have you made? What more do you want to achieve?

I can’t wait to hear lots of enthusiasm in our introductions this month. I hear it in conversations. I hear it in testimonials shared between members. I hear it in introductions on a regular basis. So let’s own the love this month, after all it’s the passion we have for our own businesses that can be the differentiator that makes our ideal client choose us.
