How can we support your marketing?

We are bombarded with messages daily… email, SMS, social media, TV, radio, podcasts, snail mail and more. Our marketing messages are competing for attention in a noisy world. Is it any wonder it sometimes feels like they are falling on deaf ears?

Some businesses I have bought from email me 2, 3 even 4 times a day creating even more noise. If I click on a link in an email then they chase me round my social media platforms showing me the product again and again… even more noise.

Our marketing is competing with all this noise. But we probably don’t have the time or budget to mail multiple times a day or for retargeting people who have shown interest. We may feel that such behaviour will alienate our ideal clients. So how can we use our networks to cut through the noise?

How can your network help?

Whilst your network may be able to share your posts with their audience so that you reach more people, there is a danger that this is still seen as noise. The biggest difference your network can probably make is to help you to build credibility and trust so that your marketing really lands with your ideal client.

Ask those who have used your services to share testimonials, Google reviews and LinkedIn recommendations that you can then include on your website and in your marketing.

There will be others in your network with whom you’ve built strong relationships. They may have heard you speak or heard testimonials delivered by others who have traded with you. Their words can help build credibility. They can talk about your qualities and reputation.

Could collaboration help? Maybe a joint marketing campaign or webinar where there is a good and understandable fit between two businesses e.g. a diet coach and a personal stylist or a marketing strategist and a copywriter.

Your November introduction

As you know, at Fabulous Networking, we vary our introductions every month to keep them interesting and to build understanding of you and your business over a period of time. This is our November brief… What’s one thing we can do to support your marketing for the coming year?

Please note, we’re asking for one thing, not a shopping list. We’ll remember one thing but give us a list and you’ll confuse us. What’s the help that will make the most difference?

You might want help at a specific time, for example, when you are launching something new or running an event. You might want to reposition yourself so you want people to stop referring you for one service and start suggesting you for another one.

Perhaps we can help you to get on a specific podcast, radio show or local media. Maybe we could get you in front of a particular target market or influencer.

Or you might want to test some of your marketing collateral by asking for our feedback on something you’ve produced. You may even want help at a stage before this when you are developing ideas.

Make your introduction as specific as possible…

  • Please give me your honest feedback on my new website. Is it clear who my target customer is, why they might want my services and what action they should take? Sharing your views on WhatsApp would really help.
  • You’ve always known me as a generalist virtual assistant. Now I would like your help to reposition myself as a virtual assistant helping small and micro businesses to integrate AI into their business routines to save them time and money. You’ve heard me speak on the topic at our meetings so if you could post a recommendation on LinkedIn that would really help my credibility.
  • I’d like to become more visible to parents of teenagers. I’m looking for introductions to podcast hosts that talk about parenting particularly those that talk about ADHD, Autism and other neurodivergent characteristics in 13-19 year olds.
  • I’m looking for more subscribers to my new YouTube channel where I share tips for starting and scaling a business. The noise is real so I could use your help by subscribing and if relevant sharing my channel with your audience.

I hope these suggestions will inspire you to share your own marketing help requests. We’ll be asking how you got on in our December review sessions.
