Grow your connections in Ealing and beyond.

There’s an old saying that it’s not what you know but who you know that counts. We agree. Our aim is to create the best connections in West London and beyond. Connections to people who will support you and your business. They might become your customers, your advocates and, very likely, your friends.

Fabulous Networking is a membership community, but visitors are always welcome. We don’t restrict attendance by profession or gender. We believe that there are opportunities to be gained by working with our competitors. Visitors are encouraged to attend up to three of our events before deciding if they’d like to join.

Our May agenda

Our meetings are relaxed but purposeful with a mix of structure and informality.

We’ll start with informal networking from 9.45 to allow people time to arrive and settle. We take our seats around 10.00a.m

After a brief welcome there’ll be a chance to introduce your business to everyone present. We don’t do the traditional one-minute pitch. Instead, we find ways to be more spontaneous and interactive. Each month we do something a little different. This month we’ll be asking you to describe your ideal customer and the problem you solve for them in 15 words or fewer, we’ll then ask all other attendees who they know that fits the description.

We’ll have a speaker on  a topic which we hope you’ll find useful. Today our speaker is Richard Wilson lifestyle financial planner with a talk entitled, A Prescription for Wealth. This might lead to a short activity or further discussions. Or we might introduce a business hot seat to help an attendee address an issue in their business. Or we might share ideas on a current topic relevant to our businesses.

Our agenda is structured but flexible to respond to the needs of the group on the day.

Your speaker

Richard Wilson left is illustrious city career in September 2021 to run his own business as a partner of St. James Place. Richard works with his clients to establish their life goals and devise a financial plan to achieve them. He and his partner have two small children. Richard is a trustee of Supporting West Africa Through Schooling (SWATS).

Your host

Glenda Shawley has been a member of our Ealing group since 2012, after a period helping the former owner market the community Glenda took the whole thing over on January 1st 2019. She’s an experienced trainer of adults, a marketer and author of Founded after 40: how to start a business when you haven’t got time to waste. She loves seeing business owners flourish and will do what she can to support owners to be successful and happy.

Our venue

We meet at Rayuela, a fine dining Spanish restaurant in the new Dickens Yard development in the heart of Ealing

There’s an underground car park accessible from Longfield Avenue (best joined from Gordon Rd. as there are turning restrictions with the Uxbridge Rd and the cameras take no prisoners!).

All bus routes along the A4020 are accessible. Ealing Broadway station is now fully accessible and serves National Rail, the Elizabeth Line and the Central and District Lines. It’s about a 5 minute walk.

Reasons for attending.

  • Running a business can be lonely, it helps to have friends in business. We can become those friends.
  • Networking works best when you attend regularly, that way the community gets to know you and what makes you special, they then have confidence to recommend you to potential customers.
